Getting to Buffalo is Easy
There are no direct commercial flights into Johnson County, but Buffalo and Kaycee are accessible destinations for those traveling by air, thanks to two interstates and a U.S. Highway.
With I-90, I-25, and U.S. Highway 16, Buffalo is one of just two places in the state of Wyoming with such accessibility.
Johnson County is surrounded by airports connected by interstates in three adjacent counties: Sheridan County (35 minutes away), Gillette/Campbell County (1 hour), and Casper-Natrona County (90 minutes).
Billings Logan International Airport in Montana is about 2 hours, 15 minutes away to the west on I-90 and includes a greater variety of airlines.
Rapid City (South Dakota) Regional Airport, about 3½ hours to the east, is perfect for travelers visiting Mount Rushmore or Devils Tower National Monument on their way to Buffalo.
