Horseback Ride/Hike
The Cloud Peak Back Country Horsemen are hosting a Bighorn Mountain Fun Ride/Hike on Saturday, July 19.
The ride and hike will begin at Elgin Park Trailhead. Sign-in starts at 9 a.m., and the activities begin at 9:30 a.m.
Lunch will be served starting at 1 p.m., and there will be a raffle and prizes at 2:30 p.m.
There will be rides of 3 and 7 miles and hikes of 2 and 4.
There will be yard games for those who stay near the trailhead.
The event is free for participants, and it is open to families, adventurers, and outdoor lovers. No purchase is necessary to be eligible for door prizes (separate from the raffle).
To enter the raffle for a sawbuck pack saddle and a Weatherby 307 Range XP 7mm rifle, tickets are $20 each or six for $100.
Directions: From Buffalo, take Highway 16 west for about 17 miles to Forest System Road 22. Turn left onto FSR 22 and turn left onto FSR 460, then left onto FSR 372 and then left onto FSR 397.
