Echoes of the Past Cemetery Tours
Learn about the history of Johnson County and the region as re-enactors portray historic figures in the Echoes of the Past Cemetery Tours, presented by the Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum.
The 2025 series begins with a non-walking tour at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6.
Volunteers present the first-person stories of historic characters from the region with an appropriate ambiance of chirping crickets and lantern-light. You will be guided through the tour on foot and each night offers a unique experience.
Wednesday nights are offered for those who do not wish to walk. You will need to bring your own portable chair and the “spirits” will come to you. Wednesday presentations begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights are walking tours. We still recommend that you bring a portable folding chair for comfort as each spirit has about 7 minutes to present.
Tickets are $30 per person, and space is limited. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and payment is required at the time of reservation. Sales help fund museum programming.
