Mikesell-Potts Recreation Area

The Lake DeSmet Recreation Area is a county-owned facility located on the south shore of Lake DeSmet, eight miles north of Buffalo, Wyoming. It is located off exit 51 of Interstate 90.

Each year, Lake DeSmet is visited by locals and travelers from across the country who enjoy fishing, boating, swimming, camping and pristine views of the water and surrounding mountains.

The recreation area offers 60 overnight camping spots and eight camping sites with electricity.

There are also two boat ramps, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, a picnic area, and four restrooms.
