Good Ride Cowboy

This sculpture in Chris LeDoux Park in Kaycee is a 3,500-pound 1½- times life-size sculpture of Chris LeDoux during his 1976 World Championship ride on Stormy Weather. The statue was created by Buffalo-based artist D. Michael Thomas to honor the life of LeDoux, an American country music singer-songwriter, bronze sculptor, and Hall of Fame rodeo champion. The base of the sculpture is a guitar, depicting the importance that music played in LeDoux’s life. During his career, LeDoux recorded 36 albums which have sold more than 6 million units in the United States. LeDoux is also the only person to participate and perform at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
