Buffalo Main Street Construction Updates
Main Street in Buffalo Wyoming is undergoing a construction project this spring and summer. The project began in March and is nearly complete.
The downtown section is nearly complete, and downtown has plenty of convenient parking.
Work has primarily moved to the section between Fort and Hart streets.
While some street parking may be restricted during this time, vehicles will be able to utilize Main Street. Follow the directions of construction signs and markers in the area.
Businesses remain open, and off-street parking is available.
The City of Buffalo has public parking available at Prosinski Park baseball diamond and the corner of West Fetterman and Western Avenue. There is a public lot across from the Johnson County Courthouse at the northwest corner of Main and Fort streets. Additional public parking is available to the east of ANB Bank off Lobban Avenue and across from First Northern Bank at the intersection of Angus and Main Street. Also, the west portion of the Farm Bureau Financial Services parking lot next to Crazy Woman Square is available for parking, but please leave spaces closest to the building for staff and clients.

WyDOT Update
October 6 update:
- The striping contractor has been grinding Main Street downtown in preparation for painting and asks that you please avoid parking along Main Street while this task is ongoing. The contractor needs all the room possible to successfully complete this task. WYDOT also would hate for motorists to get any of the enamel-base paint on their vehicles.
- South Main Street at Cemetery Creek: Paving is complete and this area is ready for striping in early October. Shoulder work, backfilling and seeding remains.
- Work continues on Main from Fort Street to Hart Street. Paving has been completed and striping will be completed this week. Work remains for the sidewalks, ADA-related improvements and a waterline tie-in for Hart Street. Watch for flagging operations, traffic control, and delays during work hours.
As of April 23:
- Hours of construction work will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
