Fetterman Fight Anniversary

The Fort Phil Kearny/Bozeman Trail Association hosts annual Fetterman Fight Anniversary program on Sunday, December 21.

The presentation by historian Sonny Reisch will take place at Kearney Community Hall.

Donovin Sprague, historian and Miniconjou Lakota, will give a presentation at 2 p.m. at the Fetterman Battlefield Historic Site with the Native American perspective of the Fetterman Fight.

Youth Horse Riders will arrive at the battlefield site for a prayer and ceremony. Youth from the Pine Ridge, Northern Cheyenne, and Wind River Reservations will be riding from Sheridan to the battlefield site to help commemorate the 159th anniversary of the Fetterman Fight.

A potluck meal with the Youth Horse Riders will take place following the ceremony, around 4 p.m.
