Ice Fishing Derby at Lake DeSmet
The fifth annual Sheridan Rotary Ice Fishing Derby will take place on Saturday, February 22, on Lake DeSmet.
The event has more than $25,000 in prizes. Two hundred tagged fish will be released before the derby with each tagged fish redeemed at derby headquarters earning $250. Prizes also available for the longest fish in trout, walleye, perch, and “other” categories: $1,000 for the longest, $300 for second, and $200 for third.
The derby starts at sunrise, and all fish must be turned in by 5 p.m.
Door prize drawings also are available for the first 250 ticket-buyers.
Early bird tickets are $50 through February 1. Regular ticket prices are $60. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Rocky Mountain Discount Sports in Sheridan or at Lake DeSmet (Lions Club Building) on the day of the event. Tickets may also be purchased online here.
