Jack Mauck Book Signing
The Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum will host author Jack Mauck for a book signing of Horses I Have Known and Their People.
Mauck grew up in Buffalo and learned to work with and love horses from his grandfather, E. A. Higgins. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service in the Bighorn Mountains and for Eaton Ranch in Sheridan County before moving to Colorado in the 1960s. He worked there as a farrier and trainer.
In his book, he shares stories about some of the most memorable horses with the kind of humor and insight that can only come from a lifetime of living alongside them, caring for both the horses and their people.
