Veterans Program: Civil War Spies
The Fort Phil Kearny/Bozeman Trail Association and Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site will present a Veterans Day program with Sonny Reisch and H.B. Puckett speaking on “George Washington’s Spy Ring and & Civil War Spies.”
The presentation will be 2 p.m. at Kearney Community Hall. It is free and open to the public.
A period military uniform exhibit will be on display, and a silent auction will feature history books.
“Our nation, born 250 years ago, might not have survived more than a few years save for a handful of intrepid patriots who made up General George Washington’s Culper Spy Ring,” Puckett said.
Reisch will talk about the important role espionage played in the Civil War.
