Johnson County, WY (Sept. 12, 2025) — Johnson County Road & Bridge is pleased to announce that Crazy Woman Canyon Road is now open to all traffic, including pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.
The canyon was closed this summer for critical infrastructure upgrades completed jointly by Johnson County and the U.S. Forest Service.
Johnson County, with support from a Federal Lands Access Program (FLAP) grant through the Federal Highway Administration, replaced the North Fork Crazy Woman Creek bridge at the canyon’s base.
Simultaneously, the U.S. Forest Service replaced a bridge farther upstream.
By working together, the two agencies shortened the closure period while delivering improvements that will keep the canyon safe and accessible for years to come.
Johnson County Road & Bridge appreciates the community’s patience during construction and invites everyone to enjoy the canyon this fall.
