Bozeman Trail Day

Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site will unveil its new permanent exhibits at the Interpretive Center while hosting several other activities on Bozeman Trail Day on Saturday, June 13.

Festivities will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., marking the 160th anniversary of the opening of the fort, which was the largest stockaded fort in the West when it was in operation from 1866 to 1868.

Activities will include living history, tipi raising, atlatl toss, archaeology events, live music from the period, cavalry and infantry talks, bugle demos, cannon firing, and range talks.

This is a free, family-friendly free event sponsored by the Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site and the Fort Phil Kearny/Bozeman Trail Association with support from the Johnson County Tourism Association.
