Lake DeSmet Fishing Derby
Take part in one of the best fishing competitions in the West when the 42nd annual Lake DeSmet Fishing Derby takes place from Friday, May 23, to Monday, May 25.
This event is organized by the Buffalo Lions Club.
The derby has more than $50,000 in cash and prizes with daily drawings, daily awards, and overall prizes. There are tagged fish for prizes ranging from $100 to $3,000.
The grand cash prizes are $1,000 on Saturday, $1,000 and $500 on Sunday, and two $1,000 prizes on Monday.
Anglers must have their license and can obtain tickets to participate at Wahoo Likkers/Outback Lounge, Lake Stop, The Sports Lure, and Crazy Woman Liquors.
Entries also are accepted at Lake DeSmet throughout the weekend.
