Paul Hedren Presentation
Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site will host a presentation and book signing by author Paul Hedren, who has written about Western history and has a new release, Sitting Bull’s War.
The event will take place 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, at Kearney Community Hall.
Hedren spent 37 years with the National Park Service and has written 13 books about the famous battles and famous characters of the Indian wars. He worked for NPS in Minnesota, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, North Dakota, and Nebraska. His many books have received numerous honors, including a Spur Award from the Western Writers of America, a Western Heritage Wrangler Award from the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, and multiple Best Book awards from the Little Big Horn Associates.
The full name for his recent 552-page book, published in November with more than a decade of research and writing, is Sitting Bull’s War: The Battle of Little Big Horn and the Fight for Buffalo and Freedom on the Plains.
