Women’s Hike at Fort Phil Kearny
Ladies can join Ranger Katie at Fort Phil Kearny for an evening hike up to Pilot Knob. Hikers will meet at the Interpretive Center at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, and make their way to the top of the hill that was used by guards to send flag signals back to the fort in the 1860s.
This is a fairly strenuous hike with significant incline of about 500 feet to the top of the hill. It is about 3 miles roundtrip. Please bring water, appropriate shoes, and any other hiking necessities. You may also want to bring a camera to take in the beautiful panoramic views of the fort and Piney Creek!
